e-Tanah  is an integrated and fully computerized system to handle the management and administration of Land Offices in order to improve the speed and quality of service delivery to the public for all land related transactions.

3.         Where are the locations for the e-Tanah pilot project?

e-Tanah will be implemented in the State Offices of the Director of Land & Mines, Mapping Survey Office and all Land Offices in the state of Penang, besides the Headquarters of NRE and INSTUN (Institut Tanah & Ukur Negara).


4.         What about other states in Peninsular Malaysia?

The project will be extended to other states after the pilot project in Penang is successful.

10.      How successful is the implementation of the e-Tanah Pilot Project in Penang?

e-Tanah System have been used in land administration in Penang since October 2007, ecspecially in  Registration and Revenue Module

Until 28th August 2009:

q  72,160 transactions of dealing and non-dealing

q  RM385,406,153.10 of revenue collection

In early stage, technical problems arose caused by:

q  System error/bugs

q  Unclean data

q  Problems originated from the legacy systems (SPTB & SPHT)


11.      How does the Government monitor the contractors performance?

  The project implementation is monitored through committees formed as follows:
